I probably would feel that way if I were Martin. I hope that I would have the restraint not to say so publicly and to present a more gracious attitude toward the winner. This winner, regardless of her feelings for the genre, did not apparently lobby for this award, was not responsible for the fact that the Hugo voters gave it to her, and whatever we fans of ASoIaF may say, her work is extraordinary and may well deserve the award, despite her feelings toward the genre, or our preference toward writers who love it.
