When you have a smart key access fob it is obviously needed to be inside the vehicle to turn the ignition on and drive off. Yes, someone could literally throw it out of the window while you are driving may be you have a little child that would pick it up and throw it somewhere out of the car. However, if it is thrown out of the window while you are driving the car, so now your vehicle will not display any information that you just lost the key or about the key missing from the vehicle which is a bit scary because you don’t really get to know that you lost your key until you get to the destination you were going and open the door. Once you open the door the vehicle will show the information and message will be pop up “No key detected” and this is the moment when you get to know that you lost your key.
Now, if you turn off your ignition then there is no way to turn it on without a key and at this moment you arr stuck. But just when you turn the car off vehicle, a message will pop up “Restart now or key is needed” and at this point of time you only have few seconds in your hands to turn on the vehicle ignition else you will stuck there. Other case is, if you just step in your vehicle and turn on the ignition and still the car is parked and someone takes away your key, and as you just start to drive the vehicle, it will immediately show that the key is missing or key is not detected. But the ignition won’t turn off until you do that.
