So, sorry for the little rant. You can find out certain things that they normally won’t reveal. Not all. Not the deep lies. But the surface stuff. You only have to ask 1) at the right time when they think you’re cozy and nice, 2) in a way that skirts the accusation that their motives are less than honorable, and 3) with the mindset that no matter what they say you’re asking things that may hurt you so you must be resolved inside to stay calm so you can mine the maximum amount of truth from a career liar.
Good luck. Be smart. They aren’t that hard to figure out. But the pain of the truth is shattering and relentless. If yours is anywhere near the level of my darling narc, take it in slowly and don’t be afraid to give your self a breather in between the waves of reality. We can only absorb so much disgusting shit at a time without sinking into hell with the fuckers.
