You want to fight crime dump collectivism for starters. Collectivism teaches people to blame others and rely on others for their place in life. That is just setting people up for failure. Every success in the US is the result of work and inspiration. Teach them a good work ethic, break glass ceilings such as those created by poverty eradication programs and the high taxes that crush the poor and middle class. Property taxes for example. Only a fool thinks the landlord pays that out of their pocket. It’s a business expense passed on to the customer. The majority of those taxes coming from low and middle class neighborhoods. As such you are not taxing the rich, you are creating a regressive tax that is unfairly weighted against the poor and which helps keep people poor. Teach people to stand up, reach for what they want, pick themselves back up off the ground and get back at it. Teach them that work is rewarded and remove the obstacles to work being rewarded. That is what empowerment is, not giving people special privileges or showering them with unearned money.

It is also why we have the murder rates we do. Poor kids in collectivist cultures grow up thinking there are only a few culturally acceptable ways to succeed. Sports, entertainment, the lottery and crime. Most people do not have the athleticism or luck to go with sports, or the talent to make it in entertainment. The lottery is a tax on those who are bad at math. So that just leaves crime for a significant number of them. They are getting back at the “man” for holding them down, when it’s really their own hand holding them down. They shun conventional routes to success as a betrayal to their culture. That would make them the “man” and they’d become everything they hate. That is the net result of Collectivism and why it is so evil. It is also the most common reason folks are killing each other in the US. They are fighting for control of criminal enterprises or other crime related murders. End the collectivism and only a tiny percentage of them see crime as a reasonable course of action. The gangs flounder for lack of recruits. People have something to lose and avoid risky behaviors like crime, excessive drinking/drugs, etc. They have a future.
