Two important factors need to be addressed here. One is that mediation and intercession different things. How does Jesus mediate? Quite literally, He puts Himself in the middle - His life on the line, ever sacrificed for mankind, and it is the blood of that Sacrifice He ever offers before the Father for our behalf. He’s the only One sacrificed, the only One qualified as a Sacrifice, and the very High Priest offering that Sacrifice. So, He’s the one Mediator.
Intercession? Much simpler. “Mommy, Frank would like to stay for supper. Can he, please?” Asking a favor for another. Clear, and simple. Through Christ, all Christians have access to the Father, and so can intercede for others. Death is conquered at the Cross, and has no power over Christ, or His Body to divide it. Living or “dead,” black, white, Asian, male, female, rich, or poor, all are made one. Nothing can separate us but our own doubts, fears, and pride. Fleshly passions. Nothing else. So those who are free from these passions can intercede for us with nothing hampering their prayers but our own readiness to receive.
