While guests waiting for the 11 a.m. ceremony to start, tea and coffee was served at Jacques Bar as the wedding party, sans bride and father of bride, assembled in The Club Room. The dress code called for a morning coat or lounge suit. The couple’s friend and concert pianist Jacek Mysinski played Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No 2, Second Movement to set the mood. It was a throwback to one of their first dates at the Philharmonic and also the music that was playing in the background when Seth proposed. “It has almost become a theme to our relationship,” Julia says. “We wanted our guests to be a part of a memorable performance: a salon style music gathering in a lovely space.” During the ceremony, both mothers gave readings and then the couple recited the traditional vows and exchanged rings before recessing back down the aisle to Edith Piaf’s original 1950s recording of Hyme à L’Amour. “I felt an incredible sense of peace and pride,” Julia remembers. “We were both incredibly happy.”

Afterwards, the group moved into the Lowell's Club Room for champagne, brunch, and cutting the cake. Then, after family portraits in the penthouse, everyone retired to their rooms or went home to relax before the next event later that evening. Julia used this time to take a long bath and had fun with an impromptu Princess Margaret-esque photoshoot. Then, she changed into a burnt red Givenchy Fall 2019 Runway piece that Bella Hadid had actually worn on the digital cover of Vogue. “I put in the order for this gown with Givenchy before I found the ceremony gown!” Julia says. “I just saw it in motion on the digital cover, thought of Audrey as Jo Stockton from that sinister book store in the West Village in Funny Face, and found it so empowering.”
