Tread on those who tread on you shirt
Anita's little video series about sexism in video games is perceived as an attack of their core value. And the loudest, the most spiteful people on the internet have reacted in the only way they know how: insults, harassments, threats. They want to scare her into giving up, into obedience. They have the same mentality of those white folks gathered outside William Frantz elementary school just to dump their hatred and fear at little Ruby.
You know, a lot of people want to make this into some kind of ideological debate. That people on the internet are very well justified in their hatred of feminists, that feminists are indeed deserving of this hate because they're either militant feminists who want more power for women than men; or they're fighting it the wrong way. But even then, death threats? Bomb threats? Really?! When is the last time you heard of bomb threats of a KKK gathering? And we're talking about real domestic terrorist groups, who actively go out and hurt people.
