The fear that something these people had been held as universal truth is actually false. That women aren't play things, women don't exist for their sexual pleasure. The realization that a whole other world exists outside their bubble of male privilege. And deep down they know if they step outside their bubble, they will see themselves as who they are: the sad, pathetic, sorry excuses of human beings who had never learned how to treat other people, especially people different from themselves, as human beings.
